Heroes Worth Fighting For
Zoe
Osteosarcoma
On October 13, 2022 Zoe, now a senior in high school, was seen for what everyone thought was a sports-related injury. From rehabbing a hip and knee in physical therapy, to bone tumor, sarcoma, and chemotherapy. her cancer is aggressive and requires an equally aggressive treatment plan. She is currently fighting a 3rd reoccurrence of cancer.
We want to Zoe and her family to know they will not be fighting alone. Join us by donating to Zoe’s Fund.
Malakai
Liver cancer. Transplant.
Malakai was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2019. He endured months of chemotherapy and surgery before receiving a life-saving liver transplant. Due to Malakai’s particular type of cancer and his age, much of the research to prevent side effects from the chemotherapy he was given has not been studied and tested. Malakai had perfect hearing prior to treatment. He now has permanent hearing loss and requires hearing aids. He continues to suffer from neuropathy, another long term side effects of chemo. Malakai will forever need to be monitored by a cardiologist due to a particular chemo that targets the heart as it tries to kill the cancer. This same chemo has also limited him from certain physical activities. In addition, Malakai’s immune system is permanently compromised due to the chemotherapy treatments. There will continue to be long term side effects that he will discover as he ages.
